Straight Teeth in Cheshunt

Dental Orthodontics

Are you embarrassed of your smile?

With continuous advances in technology, orthodontic treatment (teeth straightening) has never been more popular. At The Lodge Dental Suite, we offer much more than just traditional ‘train-track’ metal braces to straighten teeth. You can now choose a more modern, more efficient and more discreet brace system or aligner to achieve the smile you have always wanted.

Six Months Smiles

Six Month Smiles braces are far more discreet than conventional braces.

They comprise of a set of custom-made clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires and are one of the most effective systems for straightening teeth and giving you a quick and inexpensive smile transformation.  This system doesn’t use unsightly metal brackets and is one of the most effective tools to correct crooked teeth. Further to your initial visit when impressions will be taken, your Six Month Smiles brackets will be fitted.

During your treatment you will be asked to return to the practice every four weeks to tighten the wire and review your progress. At the end of your treatment, a retainer will be placed to keep your teeth in their new position.

If you live in Cheshunt, Waltham Abbey, Enfield or surrounding areas of Hertfordshire, please call us to see what Six Months Smiles can do for you.

Six Months Smiles FAQ’s

A: Re-aligning the entire bite can take up to 24 months, but Six Months Smiles uses the latest dental technology and techniques, focusing on the teeth that are most visible when you smile. This way, you can have a beautiful new smile in next to no time!

A: No! Six Month Smiles uses tooth-coloured wires and clear ceramic braces that are barely visible, gently straightening your teeth while you get on with your life.

A: Six Month Smiles uses low force to move teeth gently. Many people falsely believe that the accelerated braces treatment means simply “tightening” regular braces to get the teeth moving. Six Month Smiles utilises standard orthodontic mechanics, but with an emphasis on the cosmetic appearance of your teeth rather than the position of your bite.

A: There are no more risks of root damage or other issues than those associated with traditional orthodontics. As the force used with Six Month Smiles braces is lighter and teeth are seldom extracted, there are actually even fewer risks involved with Six Month Smiles.

A: Yes, as with any teeth-straightening treatment a retainer is necessary to maintain the straighter position of your teeth. If you don’t want to wear a removable retainer, you can have a bonded retainer placed. There are a variety of options that you can choose from according to your personal preference and situation. We would be happy to advise and help with any questions you may have.

A: There is no catch. If you are 15 years and older, with crooked or spaced teeth and you're not looking for a major alteration to your bite, this could be the solution for you! Most adults are candidates for Six Month Smiles so go on, give us a call!

Invisible Braces

Many people who are unhappy with their smile may be too nervous to talk to their dentist. They may hate the thought of wearing metal braces or may be concerned that the corrective procedure could be too invasive or too expensive. The great news is that there is an easy, affordable answer to your uneven or overcrowded teeth issue.  Long gone are the days where ‘train track’ braces were the only option.

Clear Aligners offer a system that is practically invisible because their clear splint is transparent and smooth, and better still it has no screws or brackets! The result is an attractive, new smile that you will want to show off.

The Clear Aligner need not interfere with your life or cramp your style. In fact, most people you see would be unaware that your teeth are being straightened. You can talk and laugh as normal without feeling self-conscious. Due to the fact that there are no screws and wires the Clear Aligner has a very comfortable feel in your mouth, and when you eat you can simply pop it out.

Now is the time to start feeling better about your smile. If you are looking for a clear, comfortable solution to gently move your teeth into position, Clear Aligners could be the solution you have been looking for. Call us at The Lodge Dental Suite. We would love to hear from you!

Invisible Braces FAQ’s

We individually manufactured the aligners for your teeth. With each aligner your teeth will move until they have reached the required position.

You will need to wear aligners for at least 22 hours a day during the course of the treatment. You can remove them to eat and clean your teeth.

Patients may find they need to take mild painkillers for the first week or so and it may cause you to salivate more than usual for 24 to 48 hours. You should however get use to the retainer quite quickly.

You can remove the aligners when eat.

Treatment times will vary depending on your particular requirements.

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner system uses a removable spring loaded aligner to gently but continuously apply pressure to the teeth. Teeth can be straighter in as little as 6 - 16 weeks.  After you initial visit where impressions will be taken you will be provided with an Aligner, you will need to return to the practice every two weeks so that we can review your progress.  At the end of the treatment a retainer will be placed to keep your teeth in their new position. The Inman Aligner is the perfect solution to straighten crowded, crooked or misaligned front teeth.

It is fast, very safe and great value compared to other systems and because it's removable, you can take it out to fit your lifestyle. It is barely visible, apart from a single clear wire, and it is a removable orthodontic appliance, allowing the wearer to go brace-free for important occasions - so no worrying about looking your best for that special event!

Inman Aligner FAQ’s

The Inman Aligner utilises a lingual coil spring that puts pressure at the back of the teeth that need repositioning.  A bar placed across the front of the teeth reverses the same pressure. These components work together to "squeeze" teeth together by pushing and pulling them into alignment.

The fitting of the aligner requires one half hour appointment, followed by bi-weekly 15-minute check-ups. Treatment can be achieved between 6 to 16 weeks.

Patients may find they need to take mild painkillers for the first week or so. Like anything foreign to your mouth, it may cause you to salivate more than usual for 24 to 48 hours and could affect your speech for 7 to 10 days.

Patients have been treated with Inman Aligners since 2000. In the United States more than 500 new patients opt for the Inman Aligner treatment each month.

No, the Inman Aligner is used for treating the top and bottom front teeth only. Invisalign® can treat all of your teeth.

No. Due to the gentle but steady orthodontic forces generated, the appliances are easily tolerated. Your dentist may suggest aspirin for the first few days of treatment if you encounter any discomfort.

The Inman Aligners are pre-programmed to reduce the need for dental visits. Your dentist will prescribe a treatment due to your needs.
